India Kantha stitched scarf or table scarf measuring 2 yards long x 19" wide. This is a Kantha stitched patchwork of various recycled silk fabrics that are mostly in the green and red colors with floral patterns pieced together. Stitching is done in lime green and lavender. Some stitches are not secure and are loose which is consistent with vintage handmade work from India. It is reversible and the two pieces of silk rare handstitched together using a simple running embroidery stitch to hold the layers together . The ends are not machine seamed or hemmed -- the running stitches are not perfectly straight. Photos are scan close ups of the various designs on this 2 yard long piece.
Please NOTE --This is a one-of-a-kind scarf made from vintage and antique silks. The fabric is recycled India silk -- India handwork is not like machine handwork -- there are always imperfections - Some of the stitching is loose / pulled -- The ends are not machine seamed or hemmed -- the running stitches are not perfectly straight. These imperfections are typical of Indian fabrics and craftsmanship.
SHIPPING INFO: The last photo shows how all fabric orders leave my shop -- neatly pressed and folded, tied with ribbon, wrapped in vintage pattern paper and topped with a unique thank you "card". Orders are shipped asap or as indicated in the listing.
